Art is Life.  A common thread of experiences and imagination that connects us all to one another, expressed by an artist through his work as a message, “I understand”.  It moves and inspires us to live and love.

I must create because I cannot imagine doing anything else.  My art is my life. From the time I was a child drawing in the sand to later discovering new mediums like paint, paper, wood, bronze and clay, my desire to bring to life images in my mind compels me.  Part passion, part science, I balance many elements to form my vision.

Color plays an important part in all my work for it expresses, like a word in a poem, so much.

My travels to Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, the Caribbean and other exotic locales layer each piece with curiosity and surprise.  I love to travel and intend to continue bringing the unmistakable influence of the world culture to all that I do.

My fascination with nature is obvious.  Birds and fish and all sorts of creatures make their way through many pieces.

My love of music and playing piano, guitar and sax, add lyrical rhythm of time and measure as I create.

Recently, I began a series of faces.  Unique & expressive faces are amazing. With these, as with all my work, I strive to cast a reflection of the human experience.

By viewing my work I want you to feel not only do I understand, but like a wink or smile, “I see you!

Gregory Hubbard was born in Georgia.  Self-educated in art & music he now lives in South Florida.  His work, exhibited in private & public collections, is also available through this website, scheduled shows and by commission.
